The advantages of a small house over a much larger traditional-size house are plentiful and inspiring. At least they would inspire those who like efficiency, bargains, and freedom.

In comparison to conventional-sized houses, small houses…

  8. Are much less expensive to insure.
  9. Are much less expensive to furnish.
  10. Are much less expensive to equip with fixtures.
  11. Are much less expensive to equip with (vs. big) appliances.
  12. Are much less expensive to equip with (vs. big) TVs.
  13. Are much less expensive to equip with a renewable energy system.
  14. Are much less expensive to equip with a central heating and cooling system.
  15. Are much less expensive to equip with a central air purification system.
  16. Are much less expensive to equip with a central water purification system

 I can’t think of a single advantage to having a big house unless you have a lot of kids.
