Crux
Your body has carried you farther than you realize. Honor it with the way you live.
Frame
We rarely pause to acknowledge the one companion that has been with us through every season of life. It has moved us, protected us, and powered every experience we’ve ever had. This piece is gratitude — and a commitment to care for the body that has never stopped showing up.
Body That Carried You
Thank you, body, for all the places you’ve taken me:
- to the park, the lake, the schoolyard
- across the football goal line, the baseball home plate, the track finish line
- down bike paths, skate ramps, and snowy mountains
Thank you for keeping me upright, balanced, and moving.
Thank you for keeping me in rhythm:
- on the dance floor
- in the parade
- in the march
Thank you for shielding me from harm, disease, and infection. Thank you for powering my thoughts, ideas, and love.
We owe our bodies more gratitude than we give. We overlook their brilliance. We forget their loyalty.
Misplaced Priorities
We care for our cars, homes, and possessions with meticulous attention. But the body — the machine that makes everything else possible — often receives whatever is left over.
Some people feed and train their racehorses better than they feed and train themselves. It’s backward. It’s costly. And it’s unnecessary.
Prescription for Healthy Longevity
If we want our bodies to operate at full capacity, efficiency, and longevity, we must give them what they need most:
- Organic, whole‑food, plant‑based nutrition
- Daily aerobic and resistance exercise
- 8–10 hours of restorative sleep
This is the formula. Simple, but not always easy — especially in a world engineered to sell us unhealthy products. The advertising is relentless. The programming is subtle. The consequences are real.
But information is armor. Once you understand how your body thrives, you can choose a super‑healthy lifestyle permanently. I did and do. So can you.
Promise to the Body
I love you, body. I will care for you with intention, discipline, and respect. I will give you the best food, the best movement, the best rest, and the best chance at a long, powerful life.
You’ve carried me this far. I’ll carry you the rest of the way.
