We wait for inspiration when it was there all along. Action inspires and motivates.
It’s amazing how well it works. You just need to begin, force yourself if necessary, and then motivation starts nearly immediately. Motivation increases incrementally as your action continues. Once you’re fully underway, motivation solidifies and stays with you.
Regardless of the problem or challenge, taking action pulls you out of an indecisive funk and into an uplifting fix-mode. Then you are in charge and moving forward in a positive direction. You’ll gain more motivation as you go along.
Thinking about the project’s details and timeline for completion can be overwhelming and demotivating. Breaking the project down into parts, days, or weeks is more manageable.
To keep your motivation fire burning, focus on what your project’s completion will look like. Envision graduation day, the new job, the new car, the new house, the slim body, the new relationship, the new adventure!
Once you’re well into your project, you’ll look forward to getting back at it each day.
